Ceremony marking Islamic Revolution 40th anniv held in Dublin

London, Feb 12, IRNA – A ceremony marking the 40th victory anniversary of the Islamic Revolution1979 attended by the Irish political figures, diplomats and Iranians residing in the country was held in Dublin, capital of Ireland.

Addressing the ceremony, Iran’s Ambassador to Ireland Masoud Eslami elaborated on the Islamic Revolution’s achievements in various fields, including science.

Expressing pleasure over growing trend of Tehran-Dublin relations, he said that Iran and Ireland boast of numerous commonalities in the field of fighting foreign intervention and endeavors for gaining independence and freedom.

“Both countries faced sanctions and famine and overcame them with strong will,” he said.

Islamic Revolution 1979 that overthrew Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi is celebrated in Iran and abroad each year.
