40th Islamic Revolution anniv celebrated in Central Asia

Tehran, Feb 12, IRNA - The 40th anniversary of victory of Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution has been celebrated in Central Asia.

Iran’s Ambassador to Tajikistan Hojattolah Faghani called the Iranian revolution “one of the most effective developments of recent centuries”. He also praised good cooperation between Tehran and Dushanbe that has resulted in signing of more than 170 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) and agreements such as construction of a mega dam as well as a hospital among others.

Serajoddin Mehroddin, Tajik Foreign Minister also welcomed the fact that Iran was one of the first countries that recognized the country’s independence following the fall of the Soviet Union.

He also hailed good parliamentary relations between the two countries.

In the meantime, Ali Mojtaba Ruzbahani, Iranian Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan said Iran has had a leading role in defeating Daesh terrorists the so-called Islamic State terrorists. Also, a high-ranking Kyrgyz official said the two countries share various cultural commonalities. The deputy foreign minister also praised “friendly” ties between Iran and Kyrgyzstan.

In Uzbekistan, Iranian Ambassador Bahman Agharazi said bilateral relations between Tehran and Tashkent are expanding in all aspects.

Also, deputy Kazakh Industry Ministry said Iran is one of Kazakhstan main trade partners as it has many great opportunities. Iranian Ambassador Majid Saber said his country has had many achievements since the onset of the Islamic Revolution.
