US efforts to zero in oil sales failed: Veep

Shiraz, Feb 11, IRNA - Iran, with special measures and strong diplomacy, was able to defeat the US bid to zero in oil sales, and with more serious planning and hard work will solve the problems, the First Vice President of Iran, Eshaq Jahangiri emphasized on Sunday.

Speaking to Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Asghar Dastgheib, the custodian of the shrine of Hazrat Ahmad Bin Moussa Shahcheragh, on Sunday night, Jahangiri said the government has concentrated all its efforts to solve economic problems and help the vulnerable sector of society.

Pointing to the brutal pressure and sanctions of the US administration against Iran to harm Iran's economic structure, Jahangiri said, “The government is well aware of the people's problems and we are trying to minimize the effects of sanctions and the pressures on the economy.”

In another part of his remarks, the First Vice President referred to the claims of the US government that the Islamic Revolution will not see its 40th anniversary, and said, 'With the divine bounty, the Iranian people adheres to the ideals of Imam (Khomeini) and the leadership and revolution, and with the massive presence in the Bahman 22 (February 11) rallies, they will give the message to the world that they continue to support the Islamic Republic of Iran.'

The custodian of the holy shrine of Shah Cheragh, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Asghar Dastgheib, for his part referred to the livelihood and economic problems of the people, calling on the government to do more to resolve the problems and remove concerns of the people.

The cleric, saying, 'We know that the government is in the process of economic planning,' reiterated that the United States will definitely not be in a position to promote hostile policies against the Islamic system and revolution.

He added that people will disappoint the enemies with their widespread turn-out in the Bahman 22 (February 11) march.
