Emir of Qatar congratulates on Islamic Revolution anniv.

Tehran, Feb 11, IRNA – Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has in a message extended congratulations on the 40th anniversary of victory of Iran's Islamic Revolution.

According to Qatari media, Hamad Al Thani and his deputy Abdullah bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani in separate messages to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani congratulated on the victory of the Islamic Revolution.

Earlier, Sultan of Oman Qaboos bin Said al Said in a message to President Rouhani offered his congratulations over the victory of the Islamic Revolution.

Throughout Iran, millions of people have taken part in the annual rallies to support their 1979 Islamic Revolution in more than 1,000 other cities and towns and in 4,000 villages. They are carrying banners, placards and balloons with slogans and pictures of the founder of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini and the leader of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on them.

Hundreds of foreign guests, including journalists, have travelled to Iran to attend and cover the event.

The 10-day period from Imam Khomeini's return from Paris to Tehran on February 1, 1979, until the revolution’s victory on February 11 is celebrated in Iran annually and is dubbed as the `Ten-Day Fajr (Dawn).'
