Iran not to surrender: Judiciary chief

Tehran, Feb 11, IRNA – The most important message of Bahman 22 (Feb 11) rallies to the foes of the Islamic Republic, especially the US is thst they should know people of Iran will not surrender, said the head of Iran's Judicial System in an interview during the rallies of the 40th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution on Monday.

'With pressures and sanctions, the enemy wanted to make the people of Iran retreat, but they will not let go of their values,' said Ayatollah Sadeq Larijani.

'The people will continue the path of the Revolution and Imam Khomeini; today, the Islamic Republic is stronger and more influential than ever in the region. The Resistance is relying on Iran.'

'Iran will hopefully go on and reach the peaks of victory, and its enemies will become weaker and weaker day by day,' said Larijani.

Millions of people have taken part in the annual rallies in Tehran and more than 1,000 other cities and towns and in 4,000 villages to support their Islamic Revolution in 1979. The ralliers are carrying flags of Iran and banners, placards and balloons with slogans and pictures of the founder of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini and the leader of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on them.

In the capital, the demonstrators rallied across 10 main routes to reach Azadi (Liberty) Square to celebrate the Islamic Revolution's victory which toppled Pahlavi Dynasty.

President Hassan Rouhani will address the ralliers at Azadi Square.
