Iran judiciary head participates in Islamic Revolution rallies

Tehran, Feb 11, IRNA – Head Judicial system of Iran and Chairman of Expediency Discernment Council Ayatollah Sadeq Larijani partook in the rallies of the 40th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution in Tehran on Monday.

A huge number of people took part in the annual rallies to support their Islamic Revolution in 1979.

The ralliers are carrying banners, placards and balloons with slogans and pictures of the founder of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini and the leader of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on them.

Iranians in the capital, Tehran and more than 1,000 other cities and towns and in 4,000 villages have attended the rallies with flags of Iran and banners in support of the Islamic Republic.

In the capital, the demonstrators rallied across 10 main routes to reach Azadi (Liberty) Square to celebrate the Islamic Revolution's victory which toppled the US-protégé regime of Pahlavi Dynasty.

Hundreds of foreign guests, including journalists have travelled to Iran to attend and cover the event.

The demonstrators chant 'Death to US' and 'Death to Israel' slogans in the mass rallies in the capital and other cities.

President Hassan Rouhani will address the ralliers at Azadi Square.
