Ceremony marking 40th victory anniv of Islamic Revolution held in Astrakhan

Moscow, Feb 9, IRNA – The 40th victory anniversary of the Islamic Revolution was celebrated in Astrakhan, southwestern Russia, on Friday.

Organized by Iran’s Consulate General in Astrakhan, the ceremony was attended by a number of the provincial officials and diplomats.

Addressing the gathering, Iran’s Consul General Ali Mohammadi hailed the Islamic Revolution’s dynamism and its economic, social, scientific and technological achievements over the past 40 years.

“Given Iran’s regional status, prospects of Iran-Russia cooperation is very bright,” he said.

Caretaker of Astrakhan Governorate Office Sergey Marozov also told the same ceremony that Iran-Russian ties have broadened in all fields over the past 40 years and are unprecedented in their own type.

“We attach special respect to our southern neighbor, as the two countries’ economic ties are experiencing a good time,” he said.

Marozov also hoped that Astrakhan would continue playing its key role in the two countries’ economies.

“We believe that friendship between the two nations will benefit the two countries and neighboring states,” he said.
