Islamic Revolution has bright record in backing the oppressed

Belgrade, Feb 9, IRNA – Islamic Revolution of Iran has a bright record in supporting the oppressed across the world, said Iran’s ambassador in Sarajevo on Friday.

Addressing a gathering of enthusiasts of the Islamic Revolution in Zenica of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mahmoud Heydari said that Iranian nation made tremondos efforts from the very beginning of the Islamic Revolution to uproot the dictator of the monarchical regime and then to fight foreign arrogance in support of the oppressed across the world.

“Iran has never differentiated the Palestinian, Afghan, Iraqi, Syrian and Bosnian Muslims in extending support to them and it has been standing beside them whenever it was necessary,” he said.

Referring to Iran’s big role in defeating Daesh, he said, “We helped the Syrian and Iraqi governments to counter terrorists at their own requests and the entire world today acknowledge that Iran played a crucial role in defeating Daesh terrorist group.”

Ten-Day Dawn ceremonies started in Iran and abroad to mark the 40th victory anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, which put an end to the monarchy of the US-backed Pahlavi regime in the country.

The festivities will culminate in nationwide rallies on February 11 this year, the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.
