Police confiscates 338kg of narcotics in SW Iran

Ahvaz, Feb 5, IRNA – Khuzestan Police commander announced that 338kg of opium has been discovered in an operation by anti-narcotics police.

In line with promoting public security and fighting narcotics distributors and sellers, anti-narcotics police in coordination with the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) forces, suspected a car and stopped it, Brigadier General Heidar Abbaszadeh said.

He added that while inspecting the car, police found that the consignment had been hidden inside the car.

Two smugglers were also arrested, he noted.

Referring to firm determination of police to fight smugglers, Abbaszadeh said narcotics confiscation this year had over 60% growth compared with last year.
