Islamic Revolution flourishing in Iran despite external pressures: Pak analyst

Islamabad, Feb 4, IRNA - A senior Pakistani analyst says Islamic Revolution in Iran is stronger than ever and stands on its feet despite many pressures.

In an interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), Hasan Askari Rizvi, who has also served as care taker Chief Minister of Punjab Province said the Islamic Revolution continues to enjoy support of its people who are working hard for its success.

Iran on Friday began celebrations to mark the 40th anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution that toppled the U.S.-backed shah and overturned 2,500 years of monarchical rule.

Hasan Askari Rizvi added that Islamic Revolution had transformed the whole Iranian society. He congratulated the government and people of Iran on the 40th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.

The scholar went on to say that Islamic Revolution has created a system which has helped the poor people to come to rise in political system and ensured internal peace and stability and political continuity.

He added that the world has seen many revolutions but only the Islamic Revolution has been able to sustain itself which is a great achievement for the entire Iranian nation.

Professor Emeritus of political science at University of Punjab said that Islamic Revolution proved that the change can be brought through unity and by following Islamic principles.

The analyst expressing his views said today Iran represents full autonomy in international economic system because it is not depending on IMF and World Bank loans.

“In addition to economy, it has maintained cordial and friendly relations with all those states that wanted to be friends of the Islamic Revolution,” Hasan Askari Rizvi viewed.
