Iran envoy criticizes BBC for spreading Iranophobia

London, Jan 30, IRNA – Iranian envoy criticized the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) for spreading Iranophobia in its news broadcasting.

BBC Persian should not become a tool at the hands of US President Donald Trump's team and should not pave the way for imposing additional sanctions against Iran by the US treasury, Hamid Baeidinejad said in a message released on his twitter account.

He referred to the US claims about international corporations' role in cooperating with Iran to bypass sanctions and noted that the US intelligence agencies have provided the BBC with the documents and emails of companies working with Iran.

Aim of the project is to frighten foreign companies and prevent them to cooperate with Iran and in the meantime, they have planned to add more companies and individuals to Iran blacklist in the US treasury, the envoy noted.

BBC Persian in a series of reports has accused Unaoil, a Monaco-based energy consultancy of helping Iran to bypass the US sanction.
