Iraq not to join any anti-Iran coalition

Moscow, Jan 30, IRNA - Iraqi Foreign Minister Mohamed Ali Al-Hakim reiterated that Iraq will not join any coalition against Iran.

Addressing a press conference with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov on Wednesday, Al-Hakim stressed the fact that Iraqi position is not entering any anti-Iran coalition.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Iraqi diplomat expressed support for formation of Palestinian independent government with the Holy Quds as its capital, saying Palestine is an issue related to all Arab countries.

Various Iraqi sources earlier referred to US officials' heavy pressures on Baghdad to join Washington's unilateral sanctions against Iran.

Despite Iraqi officials' emphasis on PMF's key role in defeating the ISIS, pressures to dissolve PMF are also underway.

Meanwhile, the US in line with Israel interests and to weaken Resistance forces in region is attempting to sanction some Iraqi figures and bodies.
