Iran, Syria sign banking cooperation agreement

Tehran, Jan 29, IRNA - Iran and Syria signed a banking cooperation agreement with the aim of boosting cooperation and coordination between the two institutes.

The agreement was signed by the two countries’ chiefs of central banks aims at serving stabilization of the banking sector and enhancing it and facilitating trade exchange and encouraging investment as well as boosting economic relations in light of the current circumstances.

Meanwhile, governor of Central Bank of Iran Abdolnaser Hemati said on Tuesday that the license for establishment of Iran-Syria joint bank is to be issued in the future enabling both sides to promote banking transactions.

Hemmati is accompanying Iran's First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri during his visit to Syria.
