Iranian, Syrian universities ink MoU

Tehran, Jan 29, IRNA - Head of the University of Tehran Mahmoud Nilly Ahmadabadi in a meeting with the delegation of Syrian Ministry of Higher Education presiding by Mohammad Amir Qabaqibi, head of the University of Damascus signed Memorandum of Understanding.

In this meeting, the two sides announced their readiness to exchange students and professors, joint research projects, Farsi language training, cooperation with science and technology companies, science and technology parks, specialized fields related to technical parks, agriculture and natural resources, Arabic language and literature, campus of fine arts, joint courses and other scientific fields.

Considering the importance of the University of Damascus, with more than 270,000 students and one hundred years of history and academic status of the University of Tehran, the two sides emphasized that Tehran University and the University of Damascus have a great deal of potential for collaborative cooperation and, given the friendship between the two countries, and the relations that had been temporarily decreasing due to specific circumstances in Syria would increase again.
