Terrorist attack injures 14 in SW Pakistan

Islamabad, Jan 29, IRNA - At least 14 people have been injured in a gun attack on the office of deputy inspector general of police in southwestern Balochistan Province.

According to initial reports, the attack on Tuesday morning took place during a recruitment interview for a low-level government position in Loralai area.

The attackers, reportedly, also hurled hand grenades at the office.

Four unidentified gunmen entered the office of the deputy inspector general in Loralai and opened fire, police sources said.

Meanwhile, security forces rushed to the spot and cordoned off the site of the attack.

The injured have been shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

No group has claimed responsibility of the attack so far.

On January 1, in a similar attack in the same district, four security personnel were killed during an exchange of fire with terrorists trying to storm the residential and administration compound inside a Frontier Corps (FC) training centre.
