Iran hinders US’ policies in region: Russian professor

Moscow, Jan 28, IRNA – Professor of State University of St. Petersburg of Russia believes that the compromise between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States is unrealistic because the Iranian revolution is threatening the domineering interests of Washington in the region.

Alexander Sotnichenko, in an interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) in Moscow on Monday, added that 'the Islamic Republic of Iran is actually preventing the US domination of the region and the implementation of its plans, so it is natural for the United States to deem Iran as its enemy.'

According to him, whether the Democrat or Republican, White House officials are thinking of controlling the Middle East to use its vast resources in favor of the United States, Donald Trump is no exception to this principle.

The university professor went on to say that Iran's foreign policy doctrine has been based on independence from other countries, which in itself constitutes an obstacle to the US domination in the Middle East.”

Iran has for four decades adhered to the doctrine of independence derived from the Islamic Revolution, and its people are on the side of the government, and this solidarity has made the United States difficult to carry out its anti-Iranian plans, the expert noted.
