MP's remarks on S-300 not Iran's official stance: Spox

Tehran, Jan 28, IRNA - Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qasemi said that recent remarks by a parliamentarian about the S-300 system was his personal position.

Qasemi said at a news conference on Monday in response to a question regarding the statements by the head of the National Security Foreign Policy Commission of Parliament (Majlis) Heshmatullah Falahatpisheh who argued that the Russians were turning off the S- 300 systems during Israeli attacks on Syria noted”, “With all due respect, Mr. Falahatpisheh's remarks are not the official stance of the Islamic Republic. The official position of foreign policy is expressed in the Foreign Ministry.

He went on to say that the respectable representatives express their opinions, views, and opinions, but 'I can emphasize that our relations with Russia are in all aspects well and we are discussing in bilateral', regional and international spheres and these talks continue.

The high-ranking Iranian official said that in the coming weeks 'we will have a large number of exchanges of delegations between the two countries' and consultations will continue between the two countries.'

'Finally, the source of Mr. Falahatpisheh's words and the correctness and false nature of his words would be better to be expressed by him. Meanwhile, the subject is completely intelligence and military, and I do not need to answer this question,' he stated.
