Police identifies officers' killers in SW Iran

Ahvaz, Jan 27, IRNA – The identities of the agents behind killing two Iranian police officers in Bandar-e Imam Khomeini in the southern Iran province of Khuzestan were identified, the provincial police commander said.

The attackers targeted a police car with AK-47 26, January, injuring Conscript Mohammad Reza Rafeie and the Lieutenant Allah Nazar Safari.

The two police officers then succumbed to injuries in the hospital.

Speaking to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Sunday, Brigadier General Heidar Abbaszadeh said after investigations, expert teams discovered the identity of the blind attackers.

Abbaszadeh went on to say that a terrorist group called ' Arab Struggle Movement for the Liberation of Ahvaz' has claimed the responsibility of the attack and confirmed its role in it in the social media.

Earlier on April 1, 2015 the same terrorists attacked a police camp in Hamidiyeh town also in Khuzestan, killing three police officers and injuring two others.
