Agreement on development of industrial cooperation with Australian companies signed

Tehran, Jan 26, IRNA - Industrial cooperation agreement between Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO) and Australia was signed with the participation of representatives of Australian companies, Ambassador of this country and Director General of the Asia-Pacific Department of Islamic Republic of Iran’ Foreign Ministry.

The value of exports to Australia in the seven months of this current Iranian year (starting in March 21) was $23,892 and $675.

Australia's incumbent ambassador to Iran Ian Biggs has visited trade, shipbuilding and free trade zones of Hormozgan province on January 6 this year.

Following the visit of the country's ambassador to Bandar Abbas on Saturday concurrent with the Australian National Day, this document was signed with the participation of the Deputy Director of Planning and Development and International Affairs and Communications Directors of IDRO.

Under the agreement, it was agreed that the two sides will declare the areas of cooperation and identify the areas of mutual interest, and IDRO will introduce investment projects for Australian companies to provide negotiation and implementation opportunities.

The Australian ambassador said there are several areas in Iran for the participation and activities of Australian companies in the field of industry.
