Over 80 countries to host Iran's Islamic Revolution ceremonies

Tehran, Jan 25, IRNA – Up to eighty countries around the globe will host the 40th anniversary of Iran's 1979 Islamic Revolution ceremonies, senior Iranian official said on Friday.

Eighty countries will host Iran's Islamic Revolution ceremonies, conducted by the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) offices, Mohammad Eshaqi, secretary of a cultural working group on coordinating this year's festivities said in a press conference.

The official lauded Iran's achievements in various fields after the revolution.

Today, Iran has only one percent of the world population but it produces two percent of the world scientific production, he noted.

Eshaqi said that Iran's Islamic Revolution was inspiring for other nations in the region and the world.

Iran's Islamic Revolution became triumphant over the Pahlavi regime on February 11, 1979. Nationwide ceremonies are held in Iran from 1-11 February annually.
