Madrid, Jan 25, IRNA – The Exhibition of 'Iran, the Cradle of Civilization' will be held in Spain, Director General of the Public Diplomacy Department at Iranian Foreign Ministry Ali Pakdaman said on Friday.

Speaking on the sidelines of the International Tourism Trade Fair or FITUR 2019 (January 23-27) here, Pakdaman said the exhibition, slated for March 14 to September 1, will showcase 196 highly valuable ancient and historical artifacts, including 20 pieces of gold, an inscription depicting Darius I era soldiers and two statues.

Iran's cultural consulate and Alicante archeological institute, east of Spain, will sponsor the exhibition.

Pakdaman said the exhibition will review Iran's history from presence of the first human being in Iran about 300,000 ago up to its welcoming Islam in the 7th century BC.

He added that the exhibition had already been held in the Netherlands.

Furthermore, he said the Exhibition of the works of Alicante Museum will be held in Iran in the future.

Cesar Augusto Asencio, the cultural envoy in Alicante Province said Iran is the gate of Middle East and the West and the Exhibition of 'Iran the Cradle of Civilization' will be given warm welcome by regional people due to the works to be on display there.

He noted that the Iranian works will be on display in three halls of the museum brought from the Netherlands to the site.

He added that prior to their import to Iran after showcasing in the Alicante Exhibition, the works will be transferred to Denmark to be re-displayed in another exhibition.
