Peugeot production at joint Iran-Azerbaijan factory soon

Baku, Jan. 23, IRNA - Head of Azermash Company’s administrative board Emin Akhundov said that Peugeot's production at the joint Iranian and Azerbaijani car factory in the outskirts of Baku will begin in February.

Akhundov added, 'New cars will be equipped with an automatic gearbox and will be titled Peugeot Caspian”.

He noted that the engine capacity of these cars will be 1600 and 1700 cc and its prices will be 17,000 to 21 ,000 manat depending on the model and capacity of the engine.

The Azery official said, “We are planning to produce electric cars in the coming years.”

'At the joint Iranian and Azerbaijani car manufacturing factory, the production and sale of passenger cars has started at a relatively lower price, and the price of Caspian XL cars is 13 to 14,000 manat,' he said, referring to the joint venture's activities, “In the last four months of the previous year, 1,000 vehicles were produced at the plant.”
