Iran-Austria cooperation pact showing age-old ties

Tehran, Jan 23, IRNA - The head of Iranology Department of Austria Academy of Sciences believes historic documents and images of past centuries of friendly relations between Iran and Austria are very valuable and should form the basis of strengthening ties between the parties.

The exhibition titled 'Documents and Images of the Relations between Iran and Austria' is underway at the National Library's Archive Building in Tehran, and the head of Iranology Department of Austria Academy of Sciences was one of the visitors of the exhibition.

In an interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Wednesday, Florin Schwartz expressed confidence that the exhibition and events could be a symbol of cooperation between Iran and Austria and a major step towards expanding diplomatic, cultural and scientific relations between the two countries.

The Austrian scholar emphasized the need to preserve the historical documents of relations between Iran and Austria, saying that each of these documents is part of the identity and cultural heritage of the two countries. 'Without these documents, we lose part of the history of our country. They refer to a common history that links the two countries. '

Schwartz went on to say, 'It is important to preserve these documents, not only to preserve them, but also to study them, and they must be publicly displayed.'

'By introducing these documents, the importance of the fact that the preservation of the common cultural heritage of the two countries is very important will be understood,' he continued.

He further expressed the hope that the relations between Iran and Austria would be strengthened in all areas and that the documents belonging to the two countries would be mutually studied. And accordingly the two countries can implement joint plans.

Schwartz has also recognized the importance of developing the scientific cooperation between Iran and Austria, particularly in the field of humanities, in strengthening and deepening the relations between the two countries.
