No casualties reported in SE Iran quake

Kerman, Jan 23, IRNA – The managing director of Kerman crisis management department says the 4-magnitude earthquake happened in Faryab, Kerman Province on Wednesday, has left no casualties or damages to properties.

Speaking to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), Majid Saeedi said the crisis committee has been set up immediately after the quake hit and the rescue teams are on high alert.
The earthquake measuring four on the Richter scale occurred at 3:20 hours local time (00:10 GMT).

The epicenter of the quake was located at 56.99 degrees longitude and 28.47 degrees latitude.

Iran sits on major fault lines and is prone to near-daily earthquakes.
