Russia UN envoy: Warsaw Meeting leaves destructive impact on regional security

New York, Jan 22, IRNA -- Russia's UN envoy Vasily Nebenzya described Warsaw Meeting as an anti-Iran gathering, saying that the move will leave destructive effect on regional peace and security.

Talking to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Tuesday, he added, “We will not take part in the conference. I have spoken about the meeting in United Nations Security Council’s today meeting and it is very clear what the objective of the conference is.”

During the UNSC meeting focusing on Middle East and the issue of Palestine, he added, “I heard diplomatic delegations that they were forced to attend the Warsaw Meeting.”

Nebenzya stressed the real security architecture for the region is not achievable without solving the issue of Palestine and the issue should be the most serious political priority of regional states.

“We believe that access to the reality is possible only through multilateralism and international cooperation,” he said.

Warsaw anti-Iran meting themed ‘Peace and Security in Middle East’ will be held in the capital of Poland on February 13-14.
