Iran inaugurates two new industrial projects

Kerman, Jan 22, IRNA – Iran's First Vice President Ishaq Jahangiri inaugurated two important indusial projects in the province of Kerman, mid-southern Iran, on Tuesday.

The new projects include an iron ore pellet plant that has the capacity of producing 2.5 million tons of pellets a year. The plant which took five years to complete provides 300 direct and 3,500 indirect job opportunities.

The second project is the 'Bardsir Steel Complex' which will offer direct employment to 600 people and provide 6,500 indirect job opportunities as well.

The complex is located near the town of Bardsir (40 km from Kerman) and is expected to produce 800 thousand tons of steel (billet/bloom) after full implementation. It is active in such areas as offering engineering services; procurement of equipment, consumables and spare parts, construction works and transportation

Both projects were carried out by MIDHCO, the biggest private holding of Iran that deals with industries and mining.
