Up to 100,000 tons of steel ingot exported from Khorasan Prov.

Mashhad, Jan 21, IRNA - Managing Director of Khorasan Steel Complex says in the current Iranian year (started on March 21) exports of steel ingot, as a semi-final product of the complex, exceeded 100,000 tons.

Seyyed Hussain Ahmadi Soleimani said on Monday that exports from the complex increased by 67 percent compared to that year long, pointing to the lack of effect of the US new sanctions on steel exports.

“In the period under study, 150,618 tons of different kinds of steel were exported by Khorasan Steel Complex, while it amounted to 117,454 tons last year,' the official highlighted.

He noted, “In addition to Iraq, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan and Pakistan, such countries as Oman, the UAE and Turkey are also on the list of steel customers of Khorasan Steel Complex, which is expected to exceed 200,000 tons by end of this year.'

Ahmadi Soleimani added, 'Adopting new export policies and maintaining the confidence in the quality of manufactured products in Khorasan Steel Complex, along with attracting new customers in the Far East, as well as some steel producing countries in neighboring Iran, such as Turkey, has been effective in boosting exports.'
