Syria stresses development of ties with Iran

Tehran, Jan 15, IRNA – Syrian foreign minister on Tuesday underlined development of relations with Iran.

Walid Muallem made the remarks in a meeting with Iranian parliamentary delegation, headed by the Chairman of Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh.

The two sides discussed latest developments in the region, in particular Syria.

They described Iran-Syria relations as an exemplary model for relations among other countries.

Muallem and Falahatpisheh underlined development of their cooperation in all areas, including in the parliamentary field.

Iranian parliamentary delegation, headed by Falahatpisheh, arrived in Damascus on Sunday (Jan 13) to explore new ways of fostering relations with Syria.

The visit is taking place in line with the broad policy pursued by the Iranian parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission to reinforce mutual cooperation with Syria after the end of the crisis in Syria.
