Kyrgyzstan investigating Iranian plane crash

Tehran, Jan 14, IRNA – The Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry announced in a statement on Monday that it will launch a probe into the crash of the Iranian cargo plane in Alborz province west of capital Tehran.

Following the crash of a Boeing 707 cargo plane en route from Kyrgyzstan to Tehran, 15 out of 16 of those on board were killed.

The Bishkek administration is investigating the issue to determine if any Kyrgyz citizens had been on board, the statement said.

At first, Iran's media announced the plane belonged to Kyrgyzstan, but later said it belonged to Iran's Payam airline.

The plane was carring meat from Kyrgyzstan to Tehran.
