Poland's anti-Iran meeting doomed to failure

Algiers, Jan 13, IRNA – Egyptian university professor described the US administration efforts to hold anti-Iran meeting in Poland as 'useless', saying President Donald Trump who has hatched the plot is also on the verge of collapse.

Egyptian Professor of Political Science at Cairo University Hassan Nafaa wrote in his Twitter account that Zionists are the main factor behind the US policies in the region.

Arab countries' following US policies will bring about big disasters, he said urging Arab countries to be aware of these traps.

He went on to say that the US has adopted Poland for hosting anti-Iran meeting indicating that Trump is trying to control international relations and the US ties with the Middle East in an unofficial way.

Trump is seeking an event to promote and to globalize deal of century, he said, adding that Poland meeting will be defeated since it has no requirement for success.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo earlier announced holding a meeting with the focus on Iran on February 13-14.

He claimed that countries from Asia, Africa, Europe and the Middle East will participate in this meeting.

The meeting will be held in line with US efforts to promote Iranophobia policy.

Earlier on Friday, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in a post on his Twitter page wrote, 'Reminder to host/participants of anti-Iran conference: those who attended last US anti-Iran show are dead, disgraced, or marginalized. And Iran is stronger than ever.'

He added, “Polish Govt can't wash the shame: while Iran saved Poles in WWII, it now hosts desperate anti-Iran circus.'

Meanwhile, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi too in a Twitter message said that 1892 Polish people have been buried in Polish cemetery in Tehran since 1942.

He went on to note that after being released from Stalin's Gulag, over 100,000 Poles returned home through Iran.

'Iranians have continued to respect their Polish guests for 77 years,' he added.

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Ministry has summoned Polish chargé d'affaires Wojciech Unolt to protest over co-hosting an anti-Iran meeting.

The managing director of Iranian Foreign Ministry for Eastern Europe conveyed Iran's formal protest to the Polish side for cooperating with the US to hold the anti-Iran meeting.
