Iran FM due in Iraq Tomorrow

Tehran, Jan 12, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi announced that Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif is scheduled to pay an official visit to Iraq on Sunday.

Senior managers of several Iranian state and private entrepreneurs will also accompany Zarif during this trip, Qasemi said.

Holding talks with high-ranking Iraqi officials, taking part in Iran-Iraq joint trade conference in Karbala and Sulaymaniyah are also on Zarif's itinerary.

Earlier, heading a high-ranking political-economic delegation, Zarif met with senior Indian officials, including that country's Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj.

Meeting with Indian scholars and scientists, delivering speech at India–Iran Business Forum, addressing the international meeting of Raisina Dialogue, among others, were on his itinerary.

Talks on energy, transit, banking and finance were the main focus of Iran's foreign minister who was accompanied by a team of businessmen and entrepreneurs in the visit to the South Asian country.
