500 Iranian physicians to serve Hajj pilgrims

Tehran, Jan 12, IRNA – Head of Hajj pilgrimage of Iran Red Crescent Society said that over 500 physicians and experts will be dispatched to holy cities of Mecca and Medina to give services to Hajj pilgrims.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Saturday, Mohammad Taqi Hellisaz said the dispatched physicians will present 24/7 services to pilgrims on a voluntary basis.

The first group of Iranian physicians including general practitioners, internal physicians, emergency medicine, infections and cardiologists will be dispatched in summer.

Earlier on December 18, 2018, Iran and Saudi Arabia signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for sending Iranian pilgrims to major Hajj ritual ceremony in Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, Representative of Iran's Supreme Leader in Hajj Affairs Ali Qazi Asgar said the annual pilgrimage is a main factor for preserving unity and solidarity among Muslims of the world.
