Cleric stresses cutting Iran dependence on oil revenues

Tehran, Jan 11, IRNA – Senior Iranian cleric has underlined cutting the country's dependence on oil revenues.

Iran should send the message to the world that if you are thinking of reducing Iran's oil export, the Iranian administration is thinking of cutting the current expenditures' reliance on the oil income, Tehran's Interim Friday Prayers Leader Mohammad Hassan Aboutorabi Fard said.

He referred to the parliament meetings to discuss the next year budget bill and noted that the budget should free the Iranian economy from the oil revenues.

The cleric stressed good management of resources and consumption and in the meantime increasing national production by the help of knowledge-based enterprise.

He also called for reforming the financial policies and independence of Central Bank of Iran (CBI).
