Iran FM blasts US for its interventionist actions

Tehran, Jan 10, IRNA – Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif in a tweet on Thursday blamed the United States interventionist policies, describing them as source of chaos, repression and resentment.

'Whenever/wherever US interferes, chaos, repression & resentment follow. The day Iran mimics US clients & @SecPompeo's 'human rights models”—be it the Shah or current butchers—to become a “normal' country is the day hell freezes over, Zarif tweeted.

'Best for the US to just get over loss of Iran,' he stressed.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Thursday, while driving a counter-Iran message, followed in the footsteps of his predecessors when he delivered a policy speech from Cairo outlining Washington’s priorities.

Referring to the 'new beginning' speech delivered by former US president Barack Obama the secretary of state highlighted a set of policies set to drive the Trump foreign policy agenda in the Middle East, saying Now comes the real 'new beginning', wrote The National.
