IMO chief commemorates victims of Sanchi tanker disaster

Tehran, Jan 9, IRNA - International Maritime Organization (IMO) chief in a message to Iran's envoy commemorated victims of Sanchi tanker disaster.

IMO Secretary General Kitack Lim offered his condolences to the bereaved families of the victims in a message sent to Representative of Iran's Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) at International Maritime Organization (IMO) Mandana Mansourian.

'I send my deepest sympathies to all their families and loved one,' he said in the message.

'There have been a full investigation into this incident and the results and findings were brought to IMO, so that we can do whatever may be necessary to reduce the chances of such an incident happening again,' Lim added.

The Panama-flagged tanker Sanchi and a Chinese vessel named Crystal collided in January, 2018, in East China Sea. Thirty Iranian and two Bangladeshi sailors were killed.
