Iran releases 15 Indian fishermen

Tehran, Jan 9, IRNA - A senior Indian official says Iran released 15 of fishermen who had illegally entered the waters of Kish Island five months ago.

According to Indiana newspaper, these people who were from the Uttara Kanda region of India after release headed for the UAE.

They were arrested by Iranian security forces on July 27 last year after they illegally entered Kish Island with the UAE ship.

After arrest of the group, the governor of the Uttara kand area sent a letter to Indian minister of external affairs and asked her to try to secure release of the individuals.
