Iran's borders with neighbors based on friendship, understanding

Ardebil, Jan 9, IRNA- Commander of Border Guards of the Islamic Republic of Iran General Qasem Rezaei says borders of Iran with its neighbors are boundaries based on friendship, peace and understanding, and like certain countries there is no need for walling and border obstruction.

Rezaei made the remark in a speech to the joint meeting of the border guard commanders of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan in Bile Savar on Wednesday.

The Iranian senior military official said, 'We have no hostility and opposition to our neighbors, which needs walling. The borders of Iran, especially with the Republic of Azerbaijan, are the borders of friendship, empathy and understanding.”

He said that joint meetings between border guards of the two countries are also more conducive to coordinating the issues that will deepen the friendly ties between the people of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan, and that the visits have been planned and have had positive results so far.

Brigadier General Rezaei stated that in order to deepen the brotherly relations and ties between the people of the two countries, Iranian New Year's celebration will be held jointly with the presence of the border guards, tribesmen, officials of Iran and Azerbaijan at the zero point of the border.

The meeting was also organized with the aim of coordinating and determining the venue for this great celebration.
