Iranian, Spanish FMs hold talks in Indian capital

New Delhi, Jan 9, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Spanish counterpart Josep Borrell held talks in India on Wednesday.

The meeting between Zarif and Borrell took place on the sidelines of the Raisina Dialogue which is underway in India.

The Raisina Dialogue is a multilateral conference held in New Delhi annually. Since its inception in 2016, the conference has emerged as India’s flagship conference on geopolitics and geo-economics.

Earlier, Zarif in a meeting with Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj discussed various dimensions of the bilateral relations, including economy, banking, petrochemicals, oil, energy and transportation fields.

International and regional issues such as the Iran nuclear deal, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and conditions in Afghanistan were among other topics discussed by the two sides.

Iranian Foreign Minister is also supposed to have meeting with his Australian counterpart Marise Payne.

Zarif is to address the Raisina Dialogue on Wednesday evening.

On Tuesday, Zarif delivered speech in a business forum which was held with the attendance of Iranian and Indian businessmen.
