US anxious of Iran's cultural presence in region

Tehran, Jan 8, IRNA- Deputy Head of the Office of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution in International Affairs says that Iran has cultural presence in the countries of the region and its military and advisory role have been on the request of their legitimate governments.

Commenting on allegations made by Western countries and some Arab countries about promoting Shia idealism against Iran, Mohammad Hussein Qumi said on Tuesday that the Islamic revolution had victory with the Islamic identity, and in the meantime, the issue of Shia idealism have not be raised and is not today.

He continued, “If the Islamic Republic is taking some measures in the region, it is not for spreading Shia idealism but for the ideals of the Islamic Revolution. For example, if the Islamic Republic was looking for Shia idealism in the region, support for Palestine and Afghanistan would no longer be necessary. In the past forty years, the Islamic Republic of Iran has done the most from Palestine, a Sunni country.”

'Iran has never promoted Shia literature in the region, but the United States and some other countries are worried about the cultural presence of Iran, Qomi said, noting that the Islamic Republic is obliged to defend the oppressed which is intolerable to the domineering system.
