Hezbollah calls for immediate formation of cabinet in Lebanon

Beirut, Jan 6, IRNA- Lebanese Hezbollah urged the speedy formation of cabinet in the country in no time and said the Prime Minister will be accountable for the cabinet composition.

Hezbollah Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassim on Saturday evening noted that though over seven months have passed since Saad al-Hariri was introduced as the Prime Minister of Lebanon, he has failed to form the cabient.

The official further stressed that Hezbollah merely wanted 'the formation of the Lebanese government as soon as possible and had no specific demand. We and the Amal Movement each have three seats in the cabinet allocated to Shias and do not seek any additional seats.”

He added, 'The problem arose when the structure that the prime minister created for the government and was supposed to be based on the number of seats won by victorious parties in the election, ignored the independent Sunnis' fraction.”

The Hezbollah official continued that those who are affiliated to al-Hariri have currently won 17 out of 27 seats for Sunnis in parliament.
