Asian champion not afraid of competing with best chess players of world

Tehran, Jan 5, IRNA- Asian Speed Chess champion called competing with the best players of the field as a prerequisite to succeed.

Alireza Firoozja told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Saturday that confronting the renowned champions of the discipline will strengthen the person and reduce stress for other tournaments.

Firoozja said the condition of victory in the big competitions is not to fear and have anxiety.

All competitions must be taken seriously, and if they have no panic about competition, their look at opponents will be the same he noted.

Of course, the secret of success is the first step in the day-to-day practice and effort that I had to a 10-12 hour training session in advance of the world championship in Russia, he added.

Ranked 6th in World Speed Chess Championship, Firoozja referred to the role of coach in the mental recovery of chess players, saying, 'In the Championship of Asia in Hamadan Ivan Sokolov was in the team, but in the Russian championship, we could not have a coach. It's better to be a coach in the world to coach mentally the chess player but due to the lack of funds, there is no possibility of using a full-time coach.

Alireza Firoozja, Iran's chess genius, turned into a new face in 2013 with the defeat of Ehsan Qaemmaqami. He has two championships in his career, a runner-up trophy and a third-world title for the Under-16 World Championship.
