Speaking to the Islamic Republic News Agency correspondent on Tuesday, Hanachi said that Vali-e Asr Street had been previously registered as a national heritage.
In order for Vali-e Asr Street to be globally registered, it is required to be added in UNESCO’s temporary list, Hanachi said, adding that the needed documents have been sent to UNESCO’s secretariat.
Noting that the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization is pursuing the case, he said that the global registration of this street may happen in 2020.
Some 26 places in Iran have been registered at UNESCO’s global heritage list so far.
