Peace, moderation urgent need of modern world: Cleric

Tehran, Jan 1, IRNA – A senior Iranian cleric referred to peace, moderation and tolerance as the most urgent needs of the modern world more than ever before.

In a message on Tuesday on the birthday anniversity of Jesus Christ and the beginning of the New Christian Year, Ali Younesi who served as the former Special Adviser for Ethnic Minorities for the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani offered his congratulations 'to all religious leaders of churches across the country, members of the Khalifa Council and the associations (Armenians, Assyrians and Chaldeans), scholars, scientific, cultural and social elites and all dear Christian Iranians.'

He also emphasized forty years of coexistence and solidarity between Christian Iranians and all the followers of the monotheistic religions throughout Iranian Revolution, sacred defense war and resistance against cruel sanctions.

Younesi wished all the Christians across the globe, especially Iranian Christians, a year full of peace, joy and success.
