Chabahar, Dec 24, IRNA – The first meeting of the follow-up committee for the implementation of Chabahar Agreement between Iran, Afghanistan, and India was held in Iran’s southeastern port city of Chabahar on Monday with the attendance of delegations from the three nations.

Following the meeting of the transport officials of the three countries which took place in Iran’s capital of Tehran in November, today’s meeting saw the discussion of customs tariff, promoting customs transactions and rail transit, and the transportation process, said Behrouz Aqaei, Director General of Sistan-Baluchestan Ports and Maritime Organization.

Saying that the company India Ports Global Limited (IPGL) has officially started to run Shahid Beheshti port in Chabahar, Aqaei added, loading and unloading operations, procurement, and marketing are the major tasks of IPGL in Shahid Beheshti port.

The Chabahar Agreement was signed on June 2015 and was later approved by Iran’s Guardian Council on November 2016.
