The center, which is the state-of-the-art brain surgery center in Asia and situated next to the largest education and treatment center in Beijing, has 285 beds, eight advanced operating rooms equipped with modern imaging and surgical techniques, 25 ICU beds and modern diagnostic services.
Over the past three decades, Professor Samii has played a unique role in training Chinese neurosurgeons and the Advanced Surgery Center has been built under his guidance and upon the request of the Chinese government.
After the center became operational, Professor Samii performed two brain surgeries and the specialists witnessed the surgeries through a large monitor in the hall next to the operating room, benefiting from his experience.
Along the same vein, the Chinese government and the mayor of Shenzhen in southern China have requested constructing a 1000-bed hospital called Samii Medical Center.
The first phase of the construction began three months ago and the operating room will be launched within the next few months.
