Iran-Russia preliminary cooperation committee kicks off

Moscow, Nov 28, IRNA - Iran-Russian preliminary cooperation committee meeting kicked off on Wednesday in presence of Iran's Energy Minister Reza Ardekanian, Iran's Ambassador to Russia Mehdi Sanaei and Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak.

The meeting was held behind closed doors and media were not allowed to cover the event.

Iran's ambassador to Moscow, wrote on his twitter that talks between Iran and Russia 'are underway while volume of Iran's exports to Russia in the past nine months' registered a 42 percent increase.

'Half of Iran's exports to Russia comprises agro-products which indicates the two sides' determination to further bolster and broaden economic cooperation,' he said.

Iran's energy minister arrived in Moscow on Wednesday morning.
