1.1 trillion tons of ore found in SE Iran

Zahedan, Nov 28, IRNA – The discovered minerals in Sistan-Baluchestan Province, southeastern Iran, exceeded 1,100 billion tons, head of Industry, Mines and Trade organization of the province said.

'From the discovered mines, 720 billion tons have already been licensed for exploitation and 380 billion tons are ready to be offered to investors,' said Nader Mirshekar.

He added the minerals contain sand, clay, marl, granite, shale, antimony, marble, copper, iron, manganese, titanium, etc.

Mirshekar also said that good governmental investments have been made in the province.

The province is a part of Tethyan belt, which stretches from the Alps, through the Carpathians and Balkans, Taurides and Caucasus, Zagros, Makran, and Himalayas, to Indochina and into the southwest Pacific Ocean. Zagros and Makran are in Iran.
