Representatives of Tehran, Berlin confer on benefits of JCPOA for Iran

London, Oct 31, IRNA - Kazem Gharibabadi, Ambassador and Representative of Iran to international organizations in Vienna, during a meeting with his German counterpart, emphasized the need for effective solutions and mechanisms for the benefit of Iran from the economic advantages of 2015 Nuclear Deal.

The sides emphasized the need to increase joint efforts to tackle US unilateral sanctions.

German ambassador Gerhard Küntzle argued that the preservation and promotion of multilateralism against unilateralism as well as the rule of international law is part of the inalienable principles of the German government in foreign policy.

On May 2018, US President Donald Trump pulled his country out of nuclear deal with Iran and announced that it will revive sanctions against Tehran and other individuals and companies that are cooperating with the country. The measure encountered protest of other signatory countries while the EU, Russia and China announced that they would adhere to and anticipate mechanisms for continuing business in Iran.

Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif recently told American CBS Network that the first time Europeans have been commenting not only on US policy, but also on developing a process to stop and rectify sanctions.

Announcing the operation of the EU mechanisms in the next few days, he said on Monday, “It may be due to the pressures and tensions that Americans have been tracking at all stages of the development of these mechanisms, the time will take a while to use this mechanism.'
