Mass grave discovered in northern Syria

Damascus, Oct 31, IRNA – A mass grave consisting of 1,500 dead bodies remained of US-led coalition bombardment was discovered in Raqqa, northern Syria, head of Raqqa medical association said.

Jamal Al-Isa made the remarks in an interview with Syrian newspaper Al-Watan.

The mass grave has been found in Panorama area in Raqqa city, he said.

Every day, more crimes are discovered from Daesh terrorist group and the illegal Western coalition led by the United States in Raqqa, he added.

After transferring Daesh terrorists from Raqqa, the US coalition conducted blind bombardment on the city and has destroyed 85% of it, Al-Isa said.

Some 4,000 dead bodies have so far been discovered in mass graves, he noted.

Raqqa also called Raqa, Rakka and Al-Raqqah, once the stronghold of ISIS in Syria, is a city in Syria located on the northeast bank of the Euphrates River, about 160 km east of Aleppo. It is located 40 km east of the Tabqa Dam, Syria's largest dam.

Syrian Army expelled Daesh terrorists from western and southern Raqqa in summer 2017 and took control of the city which is 368 kilometers to northeast of the capital, Damascus.
