Iran urges boost of cooperation, trade exchanges with Turkey

Tehran, Oct 30, IRNA – The Iranian minister of Industries, Mines and Trade, during a recent meeting with Turkish envoy in Tehran, urged expansion of all-out cooperation between the two neighboring nations.

'The Islamic Republic of Iran intends to have friendly and effective engagement with other countries in line with mutual interests, Reza Rahmani told Turkish Ambassador in Iran Rıza Hakan Tekin in a meeting at the Turkish Embassy in the Iranian capital on Monday.

'Expansion of all-out cooperation with the neighboring and Muslim countries, especially Turkey, is an essential feature of the foreign policy of the Government of Hope and Prudence, always being emphasized by President (Hassan) Rouhani,' Rahmani said.

While congratulating his host on the 95th anniversary of Turkey's establishment, the Iranian minister said the Government of Hope and Prudence, by adopting such a positive approach on the international scene which is aimed at expanding economic and political relations with other countries, has encouraged other nations to consider upgrading ties with Iran.

He said the two neighboring and fraternal countries of Iran and Turkey are availed with suitable opportunities for expansion of economic relations, investment and trade thanks to the age-old and historical, political and economic relations as well as the religious and cultural commonalties.

Rahmani added that as the Iranian party of the joint committee, Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade intends to prepare suitable grounds for expansion of cooperation and trade on a win-win basis.

'Tehran considers no limit for ties with Turkey,' he stressed.

Also referring to the visit to Istanbul by Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif to attend the Iran-Turkey-Azerbaijan tripartite meeting, he congratulated Turkish party on opening of the world's biggest airport in Istanbul and voiced pleasure with progress in Turkey.

He hoped for growing economic exchanges in the near future and wished prosperity and economic growth, peace and stability for Turkey.

The Turkish ambassador Tekin in turn said expansion of relations and success of Iran-Turkey Joint Committee are highly important.
